Inventors (Pre-K | Ages 4–5)
Designed for children ages 4 to 5 years, our Inventors program provides an advanced Pre-K STEM experience that prepares students for a successful transition to kindergarten. Through engaging, hands-on investigations and purposeful play, children build the academic, social, and problem-solving skills needed for future success while developing a genuine love of learning.
Our curriculum introduces students to the core principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through exciting, project-based experiences. As children design and build rockets, robots, bridges, simple machines, and other innovative creations, they learn to observe, predict, investigate, test, and improve their ideas using the Engineering Design Process. These experiences strengthen critical thinking, creativity, perseverance, and collaboration while encouraging children to become confident, independent learners.
At Kepler STEM School, STEM is woven into every aspect of the learning experience. Our educators intentionally integrate literacy, mathematics, science, technology, and engineering into meaningful, inquiry-based activities that develop kindergarten-ready skills. Students strengthen early reading and writing, number sense, mathematical reasoning, vocabulary, communication, fine motor development, and executive functioning through authentic, hands-on learning experiences.
Our Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach encourages children to solve real-world challenges while developing confidence in their abilities. During an aerospace investigation, for example, students explore the science of flight, learn how airplanes and rockets work, and apply their knowledge to design, build, test, and refine their own flying creations. Through this process, children learn to ask thoughtful questions, collaborate with peers, communicate their ideas, and persist through challenges—essential habits for success in kindergarten and beyond.
By combining rigorous STEM exploration with purposeful literacy and mathematics instruction, the Inventors program equips children with the academic foundation, independence, curiosity, and confidence needed to thrive in kindergarten. Graduates leave our program prepared not only with strong early academic skills but also with the creativity, resilience, and innovative mindset that will support lifelong learning.
